Dr. Mark Pham is a native of Boston. He enjoys practicing cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College. He then attended Tufts Dental School where he was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Pham had the privilege of serving as a dental officer in the U.S. Army for four years. He completed an Advance General Dentistry Residency Program with honors at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was then stationed in Germany where he provided quality dental care to the Soldiers and their family members. While abroad in Europe Dr. Pham took advantage of the traveling opportunities and visited sixteen countries.

Dr. Pham is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Emily Eleftheriou graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry, where she excelled in restorative dentistry & aesthetics & earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). She then completed a post-graduate General Practice Residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital (affiliated with The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center) in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Eleftheriou received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College, where she excelled in the fields of neuroscience & biology.

The art of dentistry has been her passion & dedication ever since. Her enthusiasm & compassion are always evident in her work, & her commitment to excellence sets the standard for a pleasant & relaxed dental visit. Dr. Eleftheriou’s professional affiliations include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry & the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Paul Kaplan, or Dr. Root, as he is affectionately known as in this area, has been practicing as an endodontist (root canal therapy specialist) for nearly thirteen years. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, as well as the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. He received his specialty certificate in endodontics from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, while at the University of Buffalo, he was awarded a Master of Science degree in the oral sciences for research he completed in the field of digital subtraction radiography.

Dr. Kaplan has been awarded many honors, including being chosen as one of America's top dentists in the field of endodontics for the past eight years in a row, & as one of Better Living Magazine's Best Doctors for Rhode Island & Massachusetts. In addition to treating patients in our dental office, Dr. Kaplan is a clinical instructor at Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine. Away from the office, Dr. Kaplan performs cantorial concerts, teaches tennis & enjoys quiet time boating & fishing with his family.

Dr. Raymond Dempsey practices periodontics and implant dentistry at our office. Dr. Dempsey earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Trinity College in Connecticut and received his doctorate in dental medicine from Tufts University. Dr. Dempsey did his residency in general dentistry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He then did his training in periodontics and dental implants at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. In addition to periodontal training, he earned a Master of Science from Case Western Reserve. In addition to private practice, he is a clinical instructor in periodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Paul Mathew received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. In addition, he was chosen for a Cosmetic Dentistry Honors program at New York University and has been awarded the Quincy International Award for Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Mathew has also received continuing education training at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

At Back Bay Dental Care, Dr. Mathew's clinical interest and emphasis is cosmetic dentistry. He believes that cosmetic dentistry procedures can give you a younger smile and improve your appearance and overall self-confidence: "Using technology, there are so many different things that can be done to improve your smile, which were simply not possible before. Initially, during a consultation visit, after determining your expectations we can discuss what is best for you. We can even give you a preview of what your smile may look like using computer simulation. In some cases, the dream smile can be achieved in as few as two visits. The goal is to provide you all this and an experience that is as pleasant as possible."

Dr. Jack Klausner is a 1975 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry .Dr. Klausner also teaches, is involved in dental research in facial pain & TMJ conditions at the New York University College of Dentistry, & is a member of the American Dental Association & the American Pain Society. He is one of only 96 dentists in the United States who is a member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, which investigates the causes & solutions of facial pain.
