At Back Bay Dental Care, Dr. Mathew's clinical interest and emphasis is cosmetic dentistry.  He believes that cosmetic dentistry procedures "can give you a younger smile and improve your appearance and overall self-confidence.  Using technology, there are so many different things that can be done to improve your smile, which were simply not possible before.  Initially, during a consultation visit, after determining your expectations we can discuss what is best for you.  We can even give you a preview of what your smile may look like using computer simulation.  In some cases, the dream smile can be achieved in as few as two visits.  The goal is to provide you all this and an experience that is as pleasant as possible."
 

Dr. Mark Pham is a native of Boston.  He enjoys practicing cosmetic and restorative dentistry.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College.  He then attended Tufts Dental School where he was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. 

Dr. Pham had the privilege of serving as a dental officer in the U.S. Army for four years.  He completed an Advance General Dentistry Residency Program with honors at Fort Benning, Georgia.  He was then stationed in Germany where he provided quality dental care to the Soldiers and their family members.  While abroad in Europe Dr. Pham took advantage of the traveling opportunities and visited sixteen countries. 

Dr. Pham is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Michael Bufo is a graduate of two Ivy League institutions and has over 23 years experience in all phases of dentistry.  He is a Fellow and Clinical Instructor at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.  He frequently travels there to help teach dentists from around the world advanced courses in new dental materials and techniques, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ and facial pain, and full mouth reconstruction.  In 2008 he was recognized as the Instructor of the Year in the Full Mouth Reconstruction course.  He is a member of the ADA, The International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics (ICCMO) and he is a charter member of the International Association of Comprehensive Aesthetics (IACA).

Dr. Paul M. Kaplan, or Dr. Root, as he is affectionately known as in this area, has been practicing as an Endodontist (Root Canal Therapy Specialist) for nearly thirteen years. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine, as well as the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. He received his specialty certificate in Endodontics from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, while at the University of Buffalo, he was awarded a Masters of Science degree in the Oral Sciences for research he completed in the field of Digital Subtraction Radiography.

Dr. Kaplan has been awarded many honors, including being chosen as one of America's Top Dentists in the field of Endodontics for the past 8 years in a row, and as one of Better Living Magazine's Best Doctors for Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In addition to treating patients in our dental office, Dr. Kaplan is a clinical instructor at Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine, where he teaches the post-graduate endodontic residents.

Away from the office, Dr. Kaplan performs cantorial concerts, teaches tennis, and enjoys quiet time boating and fishing with his family (wife, Stephanie; son, Sammy and twin daughters, Charlotte and Caroline). Many of his patients make mention of the "special" treatment they receive while under his care, as they are each treated to a cantorial rendition during their visit.

Dr. Emily Eleftheriou graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry where she earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.).  She then completed a post-graduate General Practice Residency program at St. Barnabas Hospital (affiliated with The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center) in the Bronx, New York.  She received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College where she excelled in the fields of Neuroscience and Biology.  The art of dentistry became her passion and dedication ever since.  Her enthusiasm and compassion are always evident in her work, and her commitment to excellence sets the standard for a pleasant and relaxed dental visit.  Dr. Eleftheriou’s professional affiliations include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry.
